Whenever we are allowed to hold open houses again I would NEVER hold one alone. Pre-coronavirus I would always co-host open houses with a lender for security as well as a good business practice.

My open houses were always jam-packed so I could never have handled all the visitors by myself. The lender would ask if they had an agent and I would ask if they needed to be preapproved for a loan. It worked like a charm and we both got many new clients.

Don’t forget that the FBI has called real estate “the most dangerous legimate profession in America”. Also, male agents are more likely to be attacked than female. Regardless of your gender, never hold an open house by yourself.
