Why Are Real Estate Agents Called “Agents”?

Real estate agents fall under the law of agency which is an area of commercial law which authorizes us (the agent), to act on behalf of another (the principal), to create legal relations with a third party (like contractors). Because we can legally obligate our clients to buy and sell things like property as well as purchase goods and services we are held to the highest standards under the law.

As agents, we must always act in the best interests of our client, be scrupulously honest, and treat the client better than they would treat our selves.
