I am representing myself in the buying a property, and the sellers’ agent is trying to charge the seller a full 6% commission. Is this reasonable since im representing myself?

I can understand that you believe you should be able to save some of the money that the seller would normally pay the broker who represents you (3% in this case). However, since there is just one broker representing the buyer and seller in dual agency their duties, responsibilities and liability has doubled. So has the paperwork.

Despite this, I hope you are at least working with an attorney to protect your interests. What you’re doing is like suing someone and then paying their lawyer to represent you. I’m afraid you’re just too smart for your own good…
