While I hate to see anyone leave our beautiful state, if you compare the average cost of living in Phoenix, Arizona vs. Los Angeles, California it’s about three times cheaper to live in Arizona. Housing is the main reason because homes are about one-third the cost in Arizona. Also, the state income tax rate there is 4.54%, vs. 9.3% in California.

Even making $22 an hour in Arizona your standard of living would be much higher than in California. Good luck!
